Administration- ASUS notice (for privacy) -- where is the withdraw option located?

So just to clarify: The "withdraw" button will ONLY SHOW UP if the feature you use WILL SEND your data to Trend Micro. Example: ASUS Privacy stated the following in my RT-AX86U: I enabled DDNS but I do not see the "withdraw" button. So I assume turning on DDNS will NOT send data to Trend...

RT-N66U - Wake on Lan (WOL) doesn't work in LAN or WAN

Hey all - thanks for the information! Looks like the Wake-on-LAN (WOL) or Wireless-wake-on-LAN (WWOL) have limitation for Apple devices because: 1). Only work when the MacBooks are in "sleep" mode - even then it will go into hibernate mode after quite sometime 2). Only works with Apple...

RT-N66U - Wake on Lan (WOL) doesn't work in LAN or WAN

Yup, I removed any forwarding from the router. I have MacBooks though, so there's no BIOS settings. The MacBook does support wireless wake up, per my 1st post, though I am not sure how does it work with WOL.

RT-N66U - Wake on Lan (WOL) doesn't work in LAN or WAN

I did. With the Fing iPhone app, it'll find and remember my MacBook's IP and MAC address when the machine is ON. When I turn the machine off, it will still show up in the Fing app but as off. That's where I tried to do the WOL. Same with the Parallel Access app. Wait.. Is WOL only when the...

RT-N66U - Wake on Lan (WOL) doesn't work in LAN or WAN

I am trying to setup Wake on Lan (WOL) on one of my MacBook Pro (Yosemite 10.10.1 from the Internet (WAN) and LAN. Setup steps: 1). Enable port forwarding From ASUS Web GUI --> WAN --> Virtual Server / Port Forwarding and enter port 7 and 9 going to my MacBook Pro. Click "Apply" 2)...

    RT-N66U and remote syslog

Maybe this is a bit old, but yes, the latest ASUS firmware seems to block sending syslog to remote server. I have Splunk with Home Monitoring and I get nothing either.

Unstable wireless/wired connection - system log show "Expired NAT-PMP mapping"

Yep, just upgraded to the latest firmware. I also reset to factory defaults and re-configure everything from scratch. Will let you know if I see more of this error.

RT-N66U OpenVPN - cannot connect to local LAN?

Sorry, missed that screenshot while I was replying to your post. But I figured out the problem: Windows Firewall will NOT allow access connection from ASUS VPN-ed device. The moment I turned off Windows Firewall, I can ping, connect to local hard drive, etc. I have enabled File and Printer...

RT-N66U OpenVPN - cannot connect to local LAN?

Nothing is manually configured for the Android profile. This is what I did, which work with OpenVPN AS server (not ASUS's) but now for the ASUS OpenVPN: 1). Download and install Android OpenVPN from Google Play 2). From ASUS router, "Export" the configuration to a file --> file.ovpn 3)...

RT-N66U OpenVPN - cannot connect to local LAN?

OK, rebooted the router. I just tested connecting from a Mac (with TunnelBlick) to the OpenVPN server, then map the network (i.e. smb://192.168.1.xxx) and now it works. HOWEVER, Android won't work. Have you tried connecting from Android?

RT-N66U OpenVPN - cannot connect to local LAN?

Could you kindly take a look at my setup in the 1st post above? That's all I have right now. I thought it's because the VPN IP address given to the client device is set to a different subnet than what I have for my LAN, but I can't even change the VPN subnet. I get: Conflict with router's...

RT-N66U OpenVPN - cannot connect to local LAN?

No, won't work. I am just curious what is it with the ASUS implementation of OpenVPN such that TUN will NOT allow remote devices to connect to the LAN and I have to use TAP. With a true OpenVPN AS server I have, I can connect to the LAN with no problem. All my Android device, with OpenVPN...

RT-N66U OpenVPN - cannot connect to local LAN?

Err, I don't have a USB drive connected to the router. What I want is access other machines in my LAN, like my Windows box via NetBIOS. This is something I can do locally, but not on the VPN.

RT-N66U OpenVPN - cannot connect to local LAN?

I have previously setup OpenVPN AS server (download straight from OpenVPN.net). Works well with the RT-N66U and I can connect from Android, Windows and Mac machines AND browse the local LAN. I disabled the OpenVPN AS server and tried to use RT-N66U OpenVPN. Although I can connect to the ASUS...

Unstable wireless/wired connection - system log show "Expired NAT-PMP mapping"

Err... to be honest, I thought I disable it but I just checked it and it is not. I just disable it. Thanks for the tip on the firmware, I'll upgrade it and will update. On the issue I have, it's just really bizarre. Devices connected. If on wireless, full signal shown (iOS, OSX, Windows...
