RT-N66U and remote syslog

t0v

New Around Here
i want to monitor my traffic using splunk and home monitor
but do not seem to be getting any syslog messages to the server.

splunk is up'n'running at 192.168.1.76 and i've set that as remote log server on the advanced - system page for asus.
there's no firewall running on the splunk server (ubuntu).
home monitor should be correctly configured (followed the simple instructions).

tcpdump udp port 514
doesn't show anything, so i suspect that the router is not sending anything or
what am i doing wrong?

RT-N66U is running the standard firmware 3.0.0.4.374_720

regards
t :)

i will try this out later tonight when the network isn't in use. looks cool.

Anyone? Any news?

Maybe this is a bit old, but yes, the latest ASUS firmware seems to block sending syslog to remote server.

I have Splunk with Home Monitoring and I get nothing either.
