LAN ports work in Repeater Mode. Media Bridge mode you will lose the repeater function but the LAN ports will work too.

Merlin 384.8 there is no wireless settings tab and if you click the SSIDs for each band it doesn't do anything. You have to put in http://192.168.1.2/Advanced_Wireless_Content.asp. Then the wireless settings come up and you can change settings. Was the same with Asus 32799. I haven't tried...

So, did you set the REP's 5G channel on different/same channel of RTR's 5G? Or did you just let the REP config automatically? I set router and repeater channels manually. 6 on 2G and 157 on 5G works best for me on both. Depending on the firmware you use you may have to use...

So the point of this thread was AiMesh vs Repeater. I see more advantages in repeater mode. It does everything AiMesh does and more. If you use the same SSIDs as main router and adjust roaming assist on main router you basically have AiMesh. Unless I’m missing something??

Glad it works. The toggling gets OLD! On my setup 5G is a little faster if that’s an option to try and connect to. Grisu I would not have thought of the direct way to access the WiFi settings. iOS 12 is like getting a new phone.

I use 2 AC68Us. Tried AiMesh and didn't like it. Was a PIA to set up and my speeds were not as fast as repeater mode. You also have no control over the node. I run 4 different SSIDs. 2 on the main 2 on the repeater. Speed on the repeater is the same as the speed on the main router...

Been over a week for me on the Beta and haven't had to toggle. What firmware are you using for the repeater? Curious if Grisu's idea to call this site directly: "repeater_IP"/Advanced_Wireless_Content.asp would work on 32738.

Didn't think of that. I couldn't tell any difference between the 2 firmwares so I just dropped back to 21140.

Thats on 21140 in Repeater mode. All you have to do is click the SSID at the top. You can change channels bandwidth whatever. Also I am connected to the main router on channel 157. I can change the repeater to any channel I choose and it works. Doesn't have to stay on 157 same as main...

Can u change channels etc on 32738 on the repeater? I tried everything w no luck on mine. Links did nothing.

Yes I did. 32738 on the repeater did not let me select WIFI channels etc when clicking their SSIDs on the repeater. That’s why I am using the older firmware on the repeater. Using newest on the router

iOS beta 12 is available to the public. Just search Apple beta. Sign up nothing to it. iOS 12 runs great. I did try the setup without the beta and same problem. Had to toggle iPhone. Only iPhone. Everything else was fine.
