    R7800 WOL & Speed Issue

RogerSC, I did in fact & found these things. It seems there are 2 problems that I face with every new router purchase: The router does not allow port forwarding to the broadcast IP address (ie: 192.168.1.255). This means WoL via WAN will fail. WoL via WAN/Internet requires the router to have...

    R7800 WOL & Speed Issue

Hi! I just bought an R7800 (on sale for 199 at Best Buy!) & in the process of setting it up I have run into 2 issues. I cannot get WOL over WAN to work. I can see the request in my logs but the PC does not wake up. WOL over LAN works without issue. I also enabled respond to ping & verified my...

    Media Bridge Died, Replacements?

Look, I get DLink isn't liked around here but I had the above combo since their release & they've worked flawlessly with stock firmware that is very good. As for my issue/question... As a fix I picked this up: TRENDnet TEW-811DRU AC1200 Dual-Band Wireless Gigabit Router with DD-WRT Support...

    Media Bridge Died, Replacements?

I'll take a look at that. Guess my big thing is that I do see some of the lights on the DAP-1522, jut not all.

    Media Bridge Died, Replacements?

So, upgrade time because part of my network setup died. I currently have a D-Link DIR-825 router with a D-Link DAP-1522 (this died tonight). Been looking to upgrade & now I pretty much have to. So what to do? Been looking at the TP-Link Archer C2600 (should have got it when it was $188 a few...

RT-AC87U - WoL only works sometimes

It was just so weird that the only change was the router itself & that it would work sometimes but not other times. I already had the latest drivers for my Ethernet card (I checked prior to posting as I read on some other forums to try that) & still had the same issues. It baffles me that...

RT-AC87U - WoL only works sometimes

So before leaving the house I powered down the router & unplugged it. After about a 1 min I plugged it in. The ASUS AiCloud app woke my computer up about 5 or 6 times today remotely over the internet. BUT, now it's not working at all again. I think I'll just return the router. This was an...

RT-AC87U - WoL only works sometimes

I'll give that a shot when I get home, but I'm already completely frustrated that something so simple is becoming so difficult. Why won't the router just forward the traffic via the udp port I have set to forward? It makes zero sense.

RT-AC87U - WoL only works sometimes

I have it setup there too, but do not have my router page setup to login remotely from the internet. I'd prefer not to have to do that. As for it being complicated, I never thought that doing a simple port forward of UDP 9 to my broadcast IP of 192.168.1.255 was complicated. DDNS just gave me...

RT-AC87U - WoL only works sometimes

Just another update. WoL worked via AiCloud this morning while on my internal network. It has failed via the internet (even though I am connected to the router through AiCloud).

RT-AC87U - WoL only works sometimes

It does, Perhaps I should have been clearer, my fault as I'm frustrated as all hell right now. Everything that is sending the WoL packet has my correct MAC address in it. For example, I can literally switch out the 2 routers, use the app I mentioned in the original post & it will work with the...

RT-AC87U - WoL only works sometimes

Okay, I'm seriously at the end of my rope & broke down & created an account because I am at a complete loss of what to do next. I just picked up an RT-AC87U & am coming from a D-Link DIR-825. Wake-On-LAN worked flawlessly on the D-Link via the internet & my internal network. It does not on...
