    My router is a AC56U and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the correct version RT-AC56U_380.65_0.trx from the mediafire host.     to wrap it up here is what I did. used the nvram save and restore utility: www.snbforums.com/threads/user-nvram-save-restore-utility-r19.19521/ factory reset the device. restored the nvram from the dump. thx for all the help!
