What to Replace my RT-AC56U with ?

the Archer C2600 is out of stock where I live, how is the Archer C7 and how stable are the OpenWRT/DD-WRT systems on TP-Link products? TP-Link seems to comparatively cheap what corner do they cut in general? Otherwise yeah I probably go with an AC68U

What to Replace my RT-AC56U with ?

I Just realized that my trusty AC56U is EoL and wont get any more updates. So far I was using wrt merlin on it and liked it very much. I'm looking for something that a) stays supported for a while (I know no one has a crystal ball) b) does not brake the bank (sub 100 USD/Euro) c) has some...

    Was my router owned?

Until shortly I was running an ancient firmware because I did not realize the update was not happening, because I did not do the intermediate CFE upgrade. Then I directly patched to 380.65 but without a factory reset. My laziness serves me right...

    Was my router owned?

no I did not use the default password. I used a randomly generated 8 symbol password. One that I thought was secure. anyway changing the password to a new one did in deed put a bandage on. And ssh is no longer exposed to the wan. But there are still attempts. Mar 4 04:46:37 dropbear[29942]...

I seem to stuck on 376.49_5

My router is a AC56U and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the correct version RT-AC56U_380.65_0.trx from the mediafire host. Now when I go to the Firmware Upgrade tab on my router an select this file the procedure starts and runs until it hits 100% and tells me it was successful. The browser...

    Chrashed the Web GUI permantly?

thank you! But is there a possibility to do it without a factory reset? I still have access via SSH and I now cleared the firefox cache, so I no longer get the "settings have been update" message.

    Chrashed the Web GUI permantly?

ok I thought I could boost my wifi over the 100% and probably did something stupid. I connected to the router via ssh and set wl_txpower to 500 and then rebooted via the Web GUI. I still have access to the device via SSH but when i try to connect via the web GUI I get the page that says: Is...
