    Adding a 4th Drive to a 3 Drive Raid 5 Array

    I want to add a 4th drive to my asustor 7004T. Can I simply add the 4th disk and have the 7004t automatically incorporate it into the Raid array with out losing data? If so, what do I need to do to make that hapen. thanks

    Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have the NAS at this time. I am debating whether to purchase a NAS device for my gigabit Ethernet network. Presently I have a WD mycloud NAS. I get about between 200 and 250 Mb/s on an uncompressed backup with Macrium Reflect. I am quoting uncompressed...

    Will I get more Ethernet throughput to my Asustor AS704T If I use 7200 rpm drives instead of 5400 rpm drives? Also, any increased throughput for adding memory from 2 gb to 8 gb? thanks

    Synology DS416 Drives

    If I purchase the Synology DS416, Can I start out with less than 4 drives and add more drives later? If that is possible, can I add drives and change the type of RAID used?

    Do 2 Lan Port mean Faster Backups?

    I have a home network. One router. One unmanaged switch. Gigabit Ethernet. Window 10 PCs If I buy a NAS with 2 gigabit ethernet ports, can the 2 port to used to increase the speed of a backup from one of the PCs on the network (win 10 Intel Core i7 6 cores) to the NAS?
