I Love My Brand New Upgraded ASUS Wireless Network!!! (Full Details Inside)

I have recently upgraded my modem to the Motorola Surfboard 6183 to take full advantage of Comcast's Blast Internet that was upgraded a few months ago to 105 mbps down and 10 mbps up. I am now able to easily reach over 100 mbps on my 5 GHz band!!! I have also updated my original post to show...

I Love My Brand New Upgraded ASUS Wireless Network!!! (Full Details Inside)

I have the Triple Play from Comcast. It has capped internet speeds of 5 up and 20 down (25 down is the max you can squeeze out). I am currently able to run constant speeds of 4.5 up and 22.5 down. I was running an inconsistent 2 up and 8 down with my old Wireless-G setup, so I am more than...

Another AC66U vs N66U Advice Thread

I would stick with the RT-N66U for now, since Wireless-AC is still in its draft stages. If you really have the need for a Wireless-AC router, I would definitely wait for the RT-AC68U. It should be available within the next few months. Plus, there will be more products supporting Wireless-AC...

RT-N66U can't pull DHCP from Comcast

I would recommend upgrading your modem to a SB6141. It definitely would perform better than your current modem. I recently upgraded from a similar setup and I couldn't be happier. I'm not sure if it would solve your current problem though.... :o

    Wifi dropping on 5G band

I have a RT-N66U and Samsung Galaxy S4 too. When I connect to the 5 GHz band, the wifi on my S4 functions, but seems to take a long time to load web pages for some reason. When I connect my S4 to the 2.4 GHz band, it runs like lightning! My laptop runs fine on the 5 GHz band. It almost seems...

    worth updating the router

I am running the same firmware as you and I couldn't be happier. Don't give into temptation! Also, .271 isn't available on the Asus website anymore and people have reported .271 to perform slightly better than .276. Unless you are saving the firmware updates, you will never get .271 again. I...

You got that right! Spending close to half a grand on a full network overhaul would put the look of shock on many faces!

I Love My Brand New Upgraded ASUS Wireless Network!!! (Full Details Inside)

I had originally only bought one WL-ANT157 to replace the middle antenna. I definitely saw improvement in my signal depending on which way the antenna was facing, especially on the 5 GHz band. This showed me that it was actually working! I then purchased another WL-ANT157 and was going to...

    New Release for .27X branch

The reason I opted to hard wire my PS3 into the EA-N66 was to get the best connection to my RT-N66U on the Wireless-N 40MHz/5GHz band. My PS3, TV, sound bar, and DVR are all in (not on) my wall above the fireplace. Since my ps3 is practically hidden behind my TV, the EA-N66 allows me to place...

    New Release for .27X branch

Couldn't they avoid the XBOX issue by hard wiring into a EA-N66 like I do for my PS3? Wireless for the current home consoles is horrible. PS3 doesn't even support Wireless-N. That is why I opted for the EA-N66. I can't wait to use the EA-N66 with my PS4! I'm not even going to bother with...
