AC68U Firmware Update for DNS Fix

Oops!! I am so used to Merlin's version that I wrongly assumed Asus carried it forward to their stock firmwares. So as been pointed out, for my use case, I do not need this done.

AC68U Firmware Update for DNS Fix

Will Asus release a firmware update for a fix for the recent DNS problem, or is that router now being left behind with no more updates? I use mine as a AiMesh node.

CVE 2023-50868 and CVE 2023-50387 in dnsmasq when DNSSEC is enabled

I did option 3 by commenting that line in the config file. Is that the right thing to do? #module-config: "respip validator iterator" # v1.08 add 'respip' for rpz feature @juched

CVE 2023-50868 and CVE 2023-50387 in dnsmasq when DNSSEC is enabled

Is there an option in unbound to do this?

    Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6_x test builds (dnsmasq 2.90)

Ouch. It's always something. Thanks for the heads-up.

    Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6_x test builds (dnsmasq 2.90)

I did a dirty update from 0.6 about 4 hrs ago. Seems to be OK, although I have seen some weirdness when loading the GUI. My DNSMASQ setting is OFF. I too am using Unbound.

The dreaded "HTTPS is a relatively more secured web access protocol. We strongly suggest to enter the ASUS router setting page via HTTPS protocol."

If I wanted to sign-in with https using the correct certificate, how do I set that up?

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

The historical data files are in the /opt/var/lib sub-dir. You do not copy that location. But it looks like that gets mapped to \entware\var\lib\ which you do copy.

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

OK, OK. Based on your pushback emails, I started exploring the directory mappings to find the sub-dirs that are important to me. I'll figure this out for myself.

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

When I ran nsru, I would also separately copy the /opt/var/lib directory, which contains the historical data for Chrony, Unbound, and VnStat. I would also separately copy /jffs/addons/YazDHCP.d which contains the data for YazDHCP. So when I reinstalled any of those scripts, or changed the USB...

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

I just started using this script, and also saw occasional cases when the backup did not run. But I must say I also saw this when I was running the older nsru backup script. I really never worried about it since it usually ran fine the next day. But that could be a problem if you only did...

Oops, looks like the Network Services Filter data is in there.
