For anyone interested in this topic! I think this is resolved. I contacted ASUS support. Their response said for the latest Firmware update the Router should be reset to factory default. When the Router reboots the update would be applied. I saved the settings and reset the router. Restored...

Well it has been a while and I kind of thought there would be an update by now that would fix obvious bugs like this. Now every day or 2 the router has to be rebooted an then reboot the printer in order to connect to the wireless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would have to agree with it being a bug in the firmware. We did have it working for a couple of weeks on Smart Connect until the update. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting I have turned off the Smart Connect! Given the 2 Bands separate SSIDs and tried the Printer on both Bands. You can Print with devices on either band! You do not need to be on the same band! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wondered if it would be the update since it had been working! The Guest WiFi is disabled! I have 1 of the 5 GHz bands disabled as well. I will try your suggestion with separate SSIDs later tonight. I have the Smart connect on and will have to turn it off without upsetting the household...
