ProtonVPN Wireguard connecting but no change to external IP

Ain't that "Default" button under 'VPN Client' settings the ones you look for?

ProtonVPN Wireguard connecting but no change to external IP

Occasionally that is not completely as it seems. And those servers! They come and go according to weather at Mars... Looking at it. Takes a lot of time to get it. Is there a Wiki or something on the 'amtm' topic? Upon thorough study found that: meaning all must be set and go BEFORE involving...

ProtonVPN Wireguard connecting but no change to external IP

Exactly! This is why I seek for corner-cuts for the ISP! Most strange thing for me is that WG is giving me all except 'Public IP'.

ProtonVPN Wireguard connecting but no change to external IP

This particular topic on the link above concerns OVPN only. As ISP cuts access to servers non-stop I decided to use WG tunnel as well. It gets a connection but IP remains ISP-given-by-default. Then I saw this thread. More than suitable for my case.

ProtonVPN Wireguard connecting but no change to external IP

Clients do receive ISP IP without VPN tunnel while WG use only. OVPN connects properly with OVPN IP visible by all clients. I did it so many times! I removed all the 'Rules' completely. I did assign WG clients one by one. I managed the rules all at once and one by one. Thought that 'check...

ProtonVPN Wireguard connecting but no change to external IP

It does show provider IP whenever WG connection involved. While OVPN - Public IP gets properly hidden behind VPN tunnel.

ProtonVPN Wireguard connecting but no change to external IP

Same story as for @lcalamar this time at RT-AX68U. Could not make it get 'Public IP' in WG mode only. OpenVPN runs for a few servers just fine. Any hint on how to make it run? My configuration details:

Solved Proton VPN got off the grid after several tries to upgrade from 3004.388.10 to 3004.388.10_2 and back.

Here comes some WG settings. Your suggestion was the first thing I did. There were no rules at all when I initiated WG clients and got a 'Public IP'. Operational one. The thing is - it remains bypassed by all clients in my LAN: PC, mobile, etc. as they get 'ISP IP' instead of 'Public IP'. That...

Solved Proton VPN got off the grid after several tries to upgrade from 3004.388.10 to 3004.388.10_2 and back.

Hope someone will take a look at my screenshot and correct me on the rules. I did set up OVPN and WG for all 5+5 Clients slots. OpenVPN happens to be operational. WG - doesn't. I haven't got Public IP from WG. But what is the reason?

Solved Proton VPN got off the grid after several tries to upgrade from 3004.388.10 to 3004.388.10_2 and back.

The thing is -in heavily censored areas like mine it's never ending struggle with ISP. Taking last century switchboard operators as an example it reminds me of Russian Revolution period with Red Navy visiting them daily and giving head shot for random "Hello Girl". Next morning you wake up to...

Could you give us a hint on both script details like here ? Or directly in forum somewhere? Not sure if it is allowed to upload a bunch of script attachments down here though. I'm just happy with his firmware. I mean 3004.388.10_2. It makes my heart sing! It couldn't be better than this. Or...

Solved Proton VPN got off the grid after several tries to upgrade from 3004.388.10 to 3004.388.10_2 and back.

Done that. Got WG connected back. But no internet traffic allowed by ISP and I got stuck in never ending request to any server: "This site can't be reach" ... So I had to switch off WG completely. Very strange though my additional free VPN successfully goes via both modes OVPN and WG. But...

I've 'Local IP' like this. Still ISP IP is there. But is it even correct to assign all WG clients in a row? It might be WireGuard by itself creating connection problem. Though in 3004.388.10 I used only OpenVPN-UDP. That way I had no rules at all. The only thing that connected properly. Most of...
