News Game On for Wi-Fi 6E

If the range on the 6GHz will be worse than 5GHz is it really worth bothering with? Seems like it'll be a wireless AD situation all over again. With 5GHz once you get 2 rooms away it could be pretty much shot.

    AIMesh node dropping.

I would agree with this except the one I kept was my original router and never had an issue until it became an ASUS bridge to another ASUS router then it also preformed flawlessly as a bridge to a Netgear router for years. I'm just gonna dump it and go down to the single router. I have a cheap...

    AIMesh node dropping.

It just happened again. As I was using it the Aimesh node dropped off the network and I lost connection. I can't believe this. When I had 2 AC88Us back in 2017 I had this same issue when one would be connected to the other in wireless bridge mode the bridged router would randomly drop connection...

    AIMesh node dropping.

I have a AX89X and a AC88U in Aimesh mode and the node drops out every 2 days. The AX89X replaced a Nighthawk X10 and the AC88U was connected to that in wireless bridge mode. Never had an issue with drops. Thinking about just dumping the second Asus router and just using a different brand Wi-Fi...

    RT-AC5300 x2 Wi-Fi Bridging Issue

I find it funny that I went out and bought the Netgear Nighthawk X10 router and set it up with the same info as my 88U and my second 88U works flawlessly with it. I've had the Netgear over a week and the Asus router in bridge mode has never dropped connection once. With the 2 Asus routers it...

    RT-AC5300 x2 Wi-Fi Bridging Issue

I use 2 88Us in wireless bridge mode and the bridge router drops out all the time and requires a physical reset to work again. Meanwhile the normal router works fine and never drops out. I know when it happens because if I go to the bridge router's IP address it's no longer accessible. Has been...

Second Router (as range extender and backup for existing AC88U)

I have 2 of these with 1 in wireless bridge mode. Doesn't work well. The main router works great but the 2nd bridge mode router constantly loses connection and requires power cycles to reconnect. I wouldn't recommend it.

    RT-AC88U

I have 2 of these routers. One is in 5GHz wireless bridge mode to the main router. Daily the wireless bridge mode router has to be reset because it will drop internet connection randomly. The main router however has never had an issue. Is it that nobody else has this problem? I thought being...

Performance of Recent ASUS Routers As Media Bridges?

I'm still dealing with this, did you find a fix? I stream Steam to my bedroom from another pc and often the stream drops and I go look at the main pc and it's dropped connection and the router has to be physically reset.

    RT-AC88U

I have two of these things and the primary one is always online and never has issues but the second one connected as a wireless bridge requires constant resets because it drops connection. It's ridiculous. This has been going on ever since they released this router. Maybe there's a solution to...

    RT-AC88U

My second one has been connected for about a week now with no resets. The first week I had to reset daily.

    RT-AC88U

Oh really. How long has this issue been known?

    RT-AC88U

The performance of the RT-AC88U in media bridge mode is unacceptable. As a router it's great but my second one arrived and every day twice a day I have to reboot it to re-establish connection. Ironically when I had the RT-AC68R for several days this issue never happened. Also even though the...

    Migration from RT-N66U to AC-87U?

You should go AC68 or AC88 if price isn't an issue. The AC87 isn't the most stable router.

ASUS RT-AC88U Feedback, Issues and Reviews. Please Share Yours

You have to be on the network already to even use that though correct? Meaning either my SSID password was already cracked or you're hard wired into my router. I'm just talking about getting into the configuration page for the router.
