Updated to 3.0.0.4.388_24684 (bypassing the one titled in this thread) and no issues. It updated both router and node automatically.

Yes, just download 24609 from the asus website. From there update the node first and then the router. After that, reset and wps reset (to assure nvram is clear) both router and node. From there set up as a new network and apply your customized settings.
