Looking for a switch brand known for security.

In case of bugs or vulnerabilities that allow getting through the router. I also disabled all remote access to the router. I'm being paranoid with security, and am creating an onion with multiple fail safes, at the router, switch, and OS level. Will be paying for a security audit as well. I want...

Turning an AX11000 into an access point.

I have a DEC850 I'll be using as the router / firewall for now. Just trying to minimize troubleshooting while setting this up. I have a port ready to connect to the internet without issue. Is there a specific port I should plug the 850 into?

Looking for a switch brand known for security.

Ended up going with a MikroTik CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+RM with a DEC850 as the router / firewall.

Looking for a switch brand known for security.

I'm looking for a switch. I just mentioned DD-WRT as it has a lot of the features I need in a switch. There might be a cheap switch that gets upgraded to the equivalent of a $2k switch if DD-WRT supports it. I’m looking to lock down my network by segregating all of my computers in case someone...

Looking for a switch brand known for security.

Have had tons of severe security vulnerabilities from firmware and hardware design decisions. I won't trust them since they've worked with the NSA, while not legally required to. It's them putting in US government backdoors that makes me think there are probably more to be found...

Looking for a switch brand known for security.

I'd like the cost to be reasonable, and something that can expand out to probably 4 vlans with multiple devices connected behind each. Performance definitely matters. Is there a pretty good switch out there, with awesome dd-wrt support, which I can turn into a much more expensive switch through...

Cisco switch web gui broke after update. How to address this?

And the solution is return the switch. I don't think this thing is secure at all.

Cisco switch web gui broke after update. How to address this?

I just updated to the recommended IOS version from the downloads page, and now I can't interact with the web UI. I installed IOS version 15.2.2E9(MD), which was the suggested release on the downloads page. It's the universal install with web based dev mgr. I can login and see the status of...

rt-ac5300 will not enter rescue mode.

Just tried that. Eventually dd wrt just comes up as a wireless choice. Ended up letting the reset button go at that moment.

rt-ac5300 will not enter rescue mode.

No matter how long I hold down the reset button, the router will not enter rescue mode. I believe default values in nvram are not set correctly, or the cfe is partially corrupted. I'm trying to flash from dd-wrt to Merlin or the stock firmware to see if that can fix issues I'm receiving with lan...

    Soft brick of rt-AC5300.

I managed to softbrick attempting to upgrade to the latest dd wrt on my rt-ac5300. Since the upgrade was not taking, (believe the issue was chrome) I tried erasing the nvram when I was briefly dumped on the Asustek page. I can still access the router over wireless and did successfully upgrade...

    Configuring MTU size.

That's the problem the ports are labeled as 1 -4 on the back of router, but I don't know which ports they correspond to on the command line. Which is why I'm looking for a way to trace the path taken on the network.

    Configuring MTU size.

    I have an Asus AC5300.

    Configuring MTU size.

My cable modem only has 1 ethernet port, which plugs into my router.

    Configuring MTU size.

    Yes, they're gigabit.
