    MS Teams issue on RT-AX86U

About a month ago I started to have issues while running MS Teams videocalls. Sometimes everything is fine during the whole call but sometimes it looks like the connection is off for 5-10 seconds and then returns back. And that can happen quite often. First, I thought it was linked to Dual WAN...

Can I use different types of WAN connection in Dual WAN mode?

At the end I came up with a non-fancy solution but quite a reliable one. :) Just printed out a short paper note indicating which parameters to change in case of ISP switching. Moving from the primary ISP to the secondary one requires 3 parameters to be changed while moving back does not need...

Can I use different types of WAN connection in Dual WAN mode?

:) By the way, is it possible somehow to save the configuration for each ISP? My plan for now is to use the router in Single WAN mode and in case the primary ISP fails manually switch to the secondary one. They have different connection types (Automatic IP and L2TP) and it is not convenient to...

Can I use different types of WAN connection in Dual WAN mode?

Oh, how right you were! Worked with it for a week. Everything was fine except for Teams videocalls. In some of them no issues but in some the connection was lost for 5-10 seconds and then returned back. And that could happen several times during a call. Very annoying. Especially when you talk to...

DNSSEC support in Dual WAN configuration

When I turn on DNSSEC in Strict mode - Internet is gone for me. That is why I kept it off for a while in my new location as I had no time to play with it. Now I tried Opportunistic mode, and it is working. Is the protection still good in this mode?

DNSSEC support in Dual WAN configuration

When I change DNSSEC support status (enabled/disabled) for one connection in Dual WAN Fail Over mode it also changes for the other one. Can DNSSEC support be configured independently for each connection?

Can I use different types of WAN connection in Dual WAN mode?

Thank you, I will. Actually, I do not need high availability infrastructure. ISPs in the area where I live now are not very reliable but if one is down and I will be able to switch to the other by simply unplugging the cable - that should do the job. Of course, automatic switching is preferrable...

Can I use different types of WAN connection in Dual WAN mode?

Thanks for the note. Actually, last night my primary ISP was down, and the router switched to the secondary ISP properly. Today the connection to the primary ISP was restored, and the router switched back to it properly as well. I am using Merlin 388.1.

Can I use different types of WAN connection in Dual WAN mode?

Oh, found it. After enabling Dual WAN first, I can configure each connection independently. Sorry for the stupid question.

Can I use different types of WAN connection in Dual WAN mode?

I have RT-AX86U and 2 WAN lines from different ISPs. First line uses L2TP connection type and the second one uses Automatic IP. Can I configure them in Fail Over mode? The problem I face is that on WAN tab I can configure either L2TP or Automatic IP. It looks like I cannot have both at the same...

WAN_Connection: ISP's DHCP did not function properly.

So, 10 days passed since I did the change and the issues did not re-appear. Hope it is resolved in my case though I will continue monitoring. To explain better what was done I have drawn the diagram which I attach here. Some explanations to it. First, I want to emphasize that the below is true...

Can I enable WiFi guest network without interrupting the existing ones?

Thanks, Hawk. This is unfortunate, but OK, have to live with that.

Can I enable WiFi guest network without interrupting the existing ones?

On Asus RT-AX88U (Merlin 384.19) I am using 3 guest networks at 5GHz. I set Access Time on one of them, so it gets disabled after the fixed time. When next time I enable this network all other guest networks seem to be rebooted. So, all the connected devices get disconnected for some time which...

ASUS firmware DHCP "Continuous Mode" potential fix for "ISP's DHCP did not function properly"

You are talking about DHCP on "ISP-->ISP's Router" segment (in case you are not using a bridge) And I am talking about DHCP on "ISP's Router-->MyAsus" segment. Tried to explain it in more detals here...

WAN_Connection: ISP's DHCP did not function properly.

I am afraid there is a misunderstanding here. As I am using 2 routers (one is ISP's and the other one is my Asus) I actually have 3 DHCPs enabled: 1) From ISP to ISP router 2) From ISP router to my Asus 3) From my Asus to my client devices. You are talking about DHCP 1) above. I am not using...
