10gbe switch reviews?

any change of a review, comparison or article about 10gbe switches? past/current/future/etc

some examples I personally would like to see more info about;

TP-Link T1700X-16TS
Buffalo BS-MP2008
the various Netgear 10gbe switches.

and any other worthwhile existing or upcoming switches someone may know about or be familiar with.

It's difficult to find good info on 10gbe switches, especially in regards to price and features.

I am hoping that 2018 will be the year they start dropping to the sub 400 or cheaper brackets. (wishful thinking I know)

Pricing is coming down - $100/port for a switch, the NIC's are also getting more affordable.

The only thing we can do with switches is describe the features, maybe test VLAN and port bandwidth limiting and show the GUI. We can't test performance.

You might want to consider a Cisco SG500X-24 if you want a 10gig switch with limited 10gig ports. If you want all 10 gig ports then this would not apply. The SG500X-24 will move 128Gpbs. The SG500X-24 is cheap on ebay. You can run it as a layer 3 switch.

SFA = Full PCI bracket
SHA = Half PCI bracket (For micro servers)

I have one 107 model with full bracket on order. They shipped quickly through DHL. Should be here in a week as per DHL's tracking website.

If you want to jump into 40gb infiniband fibre, you can find 36-port switches for less than $5/port on ebay.
