2 DHCP sources over one switch

I should have known I'd make mayhem lol. So I've got a cable modem (for my digital tv) and a ADSL-modem (for the computers) handing out DHCP.

Since they hand out addresses from different subnets this causes mayhem.
As far as I know, I can't set a fixed address in the cable box. My computers obviously have one so you may say "shut down one DHCP server". But then I got an idea. Can VLANS solve this little issue?

Yes. The problem you're seeing is DHCP uses network broadcasts, which are passed to all switch ports. VLANs limit broadcasts to within each VLAN.
