3.0.0.4.374.720 Wrecked 2.4Ghz for me

I hadn't really had any problems with the newer firmwares until 3.0.0.4.374.720. And yes, I reset to factory defaults after flashing. With 3.0.0.4.374.720 I've had all kinds of problems with 2.4Ghz devices. Here's the problems I had:

1) Range dropped off significantly, to the point it was less than my old Netgear WRT56G.
2) Devices did not want to stay connected. My wife's work laptop was particularly troublesome in that regard.
3) Once disconnected, devices could not reconnect. I had that on my Nexus 7. I could see the router, but it would try to connect, fail, and then it wouldn't even try again.

This happened on all of our devices with 2.4Ghz radios. My Asus USB-N53 never seemed to have any problems on the 5.0Ghz radio. I tried every trick I knew, including changing the control channel, the channel bandwidth, etc. Nothing seemed to help.

I've reverted to 3.0.0.4.276, which I'm hoping will fix my problems. I can already tell it has fixed #1.

Hi,
Rule of thumb always regarding new f/w. If there is no REASON to update, don't.
Newer is not always better, there is no guarantee.

I'm finding that to be a true. I forgot to mention that my devices would get bandwidth problems too, viz, downloads would slow to a crawl.
