5 Ghz Question

I have the RT N66R and i want to use the 5 g band on my galazy 10.1 tablet problem is it only picks up the lower 5 g channels is there any disadvantages using the lower channels.? Will it decrease range or speed that im getting now on the higher channels? Thanks for any advice. Jim!!

It shouldn't have any big impact, beside the usual range reduction due to the 5 GHz band.
