About lacp

New Around Here
I got one problem about lacp. This is the case:
Our core switch is cisco 4506e switch, and recently we got one huawei s5700-28C-EI which uplink to our cisco 4506. We want to enable lacp between them. But there is one problem, my s5700 and 4506e all just leave one 10GE port. I know they cannot support lacp between 10GE and 1GE now. So I want to enable lacp between 1GE optical port and 1GE RJ45 port. May I ?

You're going to need a fiber to UTP transceiver.

Not knowing the specifics of the other switch, I cannot confirm it, but it should work if they both support LACP (I know the Cisco does)

You should have no issues between an optical and a copper bond for LACP. As long as they operate at the same speed, this should work.

Wouldn't using the 10GE ports along with a 1GE link and some form of STP be better?

The 10GE gives better bandwidth (than 2 x 1GbE LACP) and you can always have the 1GE as failover in a STP configuration.

No. Don't do that. Remember, LACP is round robin as well, and you're going to have alternating speeds between 1gb and 10gb. Are you really going to be able to saturate a 2gb link?

The 10gb link is there for uplinks/trunks/etc. Use that for data between switches.

Either use the one 10gb link or multiple 1gb links in an LACP/channel-bond manner. Don't utilize both in a single bond.
