NVM - Issue Resolved Itself
i'm in the process of setting up my ac3100 (hw rev a1) with the latest beta.
no matter what test i use, various qos options enabled or qos disabled
i'm only seeing 1 upload channel instead of the usual 6-8 up channels.
download is fine, though the buffer bloat on the down is pretty bad.
normally i'd test at 100:100 (on my current wrt1200acv2 running bs dd-wrt)
but when i run all the same tests on my new ac3100 i test out closer to 99:9
and yes, i know to power cycle the ONT for a while, not just the Router.
if i need to roll back to an earlier stock or merlin, please let me know.
if there are other settings that may be pertinent, share that as well, thanks
oh, and back when i used the latest stock, my tests were dead even 99:99
it's only after flashing merlin that 90% of my upload suddenly went to hell.
UPDATE:
i noticed a section, Special Requirement from ISP in Advanced_WAN_Content.asp
maybe verizon fios needs something special here? anyone with a fiber isp know?
i tried safe things like host name = local, mac clone, spool ttl yes, still no joy.
notice on this 88:88 lan qos'd test 32/1 fiber streams/channels in use.
normally (other routers or asus stock on ac3100) it's 6 up streams.
ok, after a few more tests using other wired pc's the best i could get was;
so there is some weirdness between verizion fios 100:100 and asus merlin.
i just have no idea what else to try, and will simply live without up for now,
as i'd rather see what else merlin has to offer - than stick with asus stock,
even with this -50Mb/s up penalty.
ok, so i'm not sure why, but after an hour up (no ont reset or router setting apply)
the speed just mysteriously came back... maybe fios had to "learn" about my ac3100
who knows... as long as i no longer have any excuse to go back to stock, life is good.
merlin developer note: your lan qos (set at 99) does not seem to effect the upload.
i'm using fq_codel queue "bandwidth limiter" type, set as 99:99 by lan target mac.
