Apologies if this is somewhere on other forums. I've read many, and I haven't seen any discussion of it exactly. This is not the same as "channel 6 stuck on 2.4Ghz" issue. I can set the 2.4Ghz to settings to the 20Mhz bandwidth and change the channel.
Issue: In the Wireless->General->5Ghz screen, I cannot configure the router to use anything other than 20 Mhz for the Channel bandwidth. I have set the Wireless Mode to "N+AC", and I am trying to configure the router to use 40 Mhz as the effective bandwidth. I can change the menu item and click "Apply" - but the result is always that the router reverts back to 20 Mhz. Nothing I do will cause the router to accept the setting change.
I've tried using latest ASUSwrt firmware (3.0.0.4.374.979). In looking to fix this issue, I installed the latest Merlin build (3.0.0.4.374.38_1). Both are showing the same problem.
I tried changing the SSID's for the networks - such that I no longer have any 2.4Ghz networks sharing a name with 5Ghz networks.
I changed control channels, power settings, turned off Guest network, etc.
Nothing seems to let me convince the AC660u router that I want to use higher bandwidth 5ghz channels. Annoying.
I appreciate any pointers that can be offered.
