AC66R as Repeater

rics2980

New Around Here
Hello,

Today I bought an AC68R to replace my AC66R as primary router. I set up the 66R as a wireless repeater but cannot connect to the 66's wireless AC mode, at all. When I used the 66 as a router I had no problems using wireless AC mode and am unsure if it's possible to use wireless AC while the 66R is acting as a repeater. I updated both routers to the latest official firmware, not sure if that was wise or not.

The idea was to plug my consoles in to the LAN ports while having an extended wireless signal for my room as it can be spotty at times. If anyone can tell me if its possible to get a wireless AC signal from the 66R while in repeater mode, I'd be very appreciative! Thanks in advance.

You want to use the 68r as the router... Alot more horsepower than the 66r....That link should help also

Thanks for the suggestion guys.

I reset my 66R to default settings, set it to repeater mode and it's working as intended now. Now if only Comcast was back to its usual self, bad weather in my area has caused outages and such so I'm getting pretty connection speeds.

Thanks again!
