AC66u - 380.69 - VPN Client routing all devices, not just selected ones

Hi guys,

I've been trying to connect only my Android TV through NordVPN in the OpenVPN Client section.

But when I import their VPN config file, set the REDIRECT INTERNET TRAFFIC setting to Policy Rules/Strict (tried both) and add the TV's internal IP address and then turn it ON, everything breaks down.

ASUS router website starts taking about 5 minutes to respond to any page change. ALL devices on my network lose internet connection (the VPN server configuration itself might be bad or the importing might get corrupted, but I can't really troubleshoot properly as everything goes down and I have to turn off the client to regain internet access)

Accept DNS Configuration is set to EXCLUSIVE (as suggested on the Wiki)

Am I missing something?

Hi,
Have you tried to follow this instructions from NordVPN? https://nordvpn.com/tutorials/asustwrt-merlin/openvpn/
Dont forget to copy in the Custom Configuration text and then your device specifik IP-adress under "Rules for routing".
If you dont have a fix ip-adress for your device and not select it in under "Rules for routing" all ip-adresses goes throw the VPNtunnel.

I hope this my help you. :-)

Hi Seamaster,

Yes I followed that guide and pasted the custom config but this problem exists despite all that :(

Ok, try to change the Custom Configuration text to.....

remote-cert-tls server
remote-random
nobind
tun-mtu 1500
tun-mtu-extra 32
mssfix 1450
persist-key
persist-tun
ping-timer-rem
reneg-sec 0
auth-retry nointeract

Please provide a screenshot of your VPN config, redacting any personal info such as username/password

And here is the custom config

remote-cert-tls server
remote-random
nobind
tun-mtu 1500
tun-mtu-extra 32
mssfix 1450
persist-key
persist-tun
ping-timer-rem
reneg-sec 0
# log /tmp/vpn.log

Hm nothing strikes me as wrong there. Are you running any custom scripts?

Also, can you connect to the router over SSH and post the outputs of the below command
Code:
ip rule show
