I have recently purchased and am using an Asus AC88U. I am fairly happy with it. I may have run into an impasse. It seems that I cannot have notifications sent to me without a Google or AOL account. The other two options seem a bit concerning as I believe they are both Chinese. I don't want my notifications going through China, if that is truly what they would be doing.
Am I reading this right? Do I need an Google or AOL account to get notifications? Is there someway that I could find notifications by logging into the router?
Or is there someway that I can use my own domain name's mail server?
