What works best?
My setup:
I have an Asus RT-N56U router that I love but keep it on old firmware 1.0.1.8j because of the internet drops of the newer firmware. It runs pretty good for my needs: 7 laptops, 5 desktops, 7 iPhones, 3 iPads, 1 android tablet, 2 smart TV's, 4 WDTV's, 1 slingbox, 1 wireless printer, 1 Vera Z-Wave with several clients, and the worst of the bandwidth is 5 wireless IP cameras. I'm sure that I missed something.
My issue:
My router is downstairs and I have moved it around to find the best spot to cover the whole house and it is working decently but I want awesome service to the master bedroom without taking away from the rest of the house. My first thought was to add in my master bedroom the EA-R66 extender as an AP using a solid CAT5e connection to the router.
OR
Simply spend a few more bucks and buy the better RT-N66U router, replace the RT-N56U and use my old RT-N56U as an AP in my master bedroom.
The IP cameras suck a lot of wireless bandwidth and I have been considering putting them on their on separate network, but that's another issue. LOL!
All responses are greatly appreciated. If I'm looking at this the wrong way, please tell me that as well!
THANKS!
