Access point RT-N66U - wan goes down - wireless unconnectable

Does any know when my wan FTTC ADSL connection goes down I can't connect to the access point via wireless (2.4)? Lucky it only happens once every 6 months or so, not predictable, usually early Sunday mornings when BT or whoever are doing something somewhere.
