Accessing local addresses from VPN

Hi

Has something changed with the standard PPTP VPN server? now seems that when I connect using the VPN on a wifi network I can not access local addresses. Eg. if I type 192.168.1.1 which is the local asus RTN66U router instead I access the router which I am using wifi, same with local NAS or Ip cameras

Does your pptp server provide you an ip in the same range as 192.168.1.x??

yes and both routers have same IP 192.168.1.1
