Accessing Pictures? - Sister's Low Tech Skill

Hi All,

Considering my sister has very low tech skills - What would be the best way for her to put pictures in folders, then view those folders on her TV, and possibly on her Android phone (4.1 OS) when away from home? It would be great if she could wireless move images off her phone to the folders. I suspect she must use her PC to get images off her Canon camera.

She has all new stuff - Playstation 3 (250GB), Dish DVR, ROKU flow to an Onkyo A/V, then to a non internet TV. All these devices (except TV) are connected to a gigabit switch via Cat6, then to the ASUS AC66 via Cat6. She's has a Win XP PC which is off most of the time.

Idea #1:
Could I connect an external USB drive to ASUS and use the PS3 GUI "Network" drop down to access these pictures?

The Media Server on the router could take care of that if you plugged a USB disk with the photos to the router, and enabled the Media Server.

After that, any program or device that supports DLNA will be able to browse through them while at home.

To browse while outside of home however, she'll have to use AiCloud. Not sure how well designed the photo support is in AiCloud, I never tried it.
