I'm running an AC3100 as my primary router, with two AC66U hardwired as access points in the farther corners of my home.
Given that the AC66U won't receive Merlin FW updates on the new branch, I'm thinking that I'll eventually revert to the ASUS stock firmware once they get around to adding AiMesh. They mentioned updating those older units in one of the AiMesh threads.
Question - would a mix of Merlin firmware and stock firmware be supported? I believe that one of the AiMesh features is to keep firmware updates in sync across the mesh, not sure how the custom firmware would respond to being in a mixed environment.
