So I've got two AX88U - one is the router and one is the mesh node.
My house isn't designed with technology with mind - as such, we don't have ethernet jacks anywhere and we have very limited coax outlets in odd places (for something like moCA) - my room, master bedroom, family room behind a hole meant for a projection TV that I can't get to on my own (so a wired backhaul will be the ultimate goal, but it isn't something for the immediate future).
Anyway, I followed OE's guide on setting up the AiMesh (thank you for that btw). Both router and node have the latest Merlin firmware, and the node is connected via 5G with good signal. But anything that is connected to the node has horrible signal. If a device is connected to the router (in the same region as the node), I get good speeds.
For example:
Device connected to Node - 0.11 Mbps DL / 11 Mbps UL
Device connected to Router (in Node region) - 186 Mbps / 8 Mbps
I have a Gigabit subscription with Cox.
It's not just one device. It's all devices connected to the Node.
I'm including screenshots of my router devices, AiMesh details, and modem (if that helps).
Ai Mesh details (signal is - 60 dB)
Connected devices (underlined are those that are connected to Node)
Modem - TM8402a (Cox provided Voice/Internet modem)
