All clients not appearing in Network Map

New Around Here
Hi all

I updated my N56U yesterday to firmware 3.0.0.4.260. Since then the router is only detecting 3 of my clients even though I am connected to the internet through the router with other clients, for example my laptop. I need to forward a port from my laptop but as it's not appearing in the network map I am unable to select it in port forwarding. I'm not very familiar with the router so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Clients with existing DHCP leases won't appear until their current lease expires or gets renewed (for example if you reboot them).

Are they set on DHCP or on a static IP?

I'm at work now so I'm not sure. The laptop is Windows 8 so I think it is automatically set to DHCP but I can check later. Thanks for your help so far

There's a good chance your laptop would indeed be on a DHCP configuration.

The only other idea I can think of would be that you might need to wait until their previous lease expires (which is 24 hours in the case of Asuswrt - could be a different value with other routers/firmwares). I guess you could try issuing an ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew on a client to see what happens then.

Also make sure you don't have other DHCP servers on your network.

I have checked and the laptop is set to DHCP, should I try to change this to static. The strange thing in all this is is that when I check the general log for the router every time I a client connects to the router the DHCPrequest is sent and DCHPPACK follows straight away with the correct name for the client but they still don't show up in the client list. I have no other servers and the release renew had no affect.
