Allow dns thru openVPN question?

Im running merlins latest and have openVPN setup using Private Internet Access.

With the VPN turned on I cannot access my PC by its dns name as well as my security cameras.

I tried out a script that was posted in a different post and configured it to open one of the camera IP's but it did not wok.

Is there a way to configure the router to let some IP's go around the vpn and also open a few ports on internal ips?
