Solved Allow inbound SSH to a machine that is configured to use a VPN for outbound

Paul Cardamone

New Around Here
I have an ubuntu machine on my network that is configured to use a VPN Client (on my asus router) for outbound traffic.

The rule is simple, anything from it's IP goes out over the VPN tunnel.

Since I have enabled this, I can't SSH to that same machine from the internet. I can from internal, but not externally. The port forwarding rule is pointed to it's internal IP. I am sure I have missed something simple. any help guys?

Thanks.
