Amazon fire tablet and range extender issue

I have added a powerlink range extender in an addition and it works fine with every device except a Fire HD tablet. If it’s in the same room as the access point it loses wifi connection. Walk towards the router and it picks it up. Turn off the extender and it works fine. Any ideas what could be going on?

The Fire HD will pick up 1-2 "bars" of wifi in the addition but most other devices will not. I'd like all the devices to get a good signal.

If the extender broadcasts the same SSID as the base router, try changing it to transmit a different SSID. You'll have to add the new network to all the devices, but now you can manually force a "sticky" device to the extender.
