amtm amtm 6.1.2 - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu, July 12, 2025

amtm 6.1 is now available
  • Adds support for wx WXMON - Localized Weather Monitoring, extended forecasts, including aviation METARs and TAFs! (US/Global!) by @Viktor Jaep.
  • This is Viktor's sixth script that makes it into amtm. Congratulations Mr. Jaep, you are the best!
  • Added option in sc Scripts update notification to select between weekly (default), bi-weekly (new), or daily (new) update checks. Thanks to @Tarek Yag for the suggestion.
  • Moved install path to new AMTM-OSR repository for the following scripts: Scribe, uiScribe and vnStat.
Existing installations of above scripts get automatically modified to use the new AMTM-OSR repositories.
If a script needed URL modification, it will prominently show so and to use the scripts own update function to update to the latest version.
If you missed that, check for updates with u in amtm after you updated amtm to this latest version.

Also, all repository branches will be set to "master" for already installed scripts, no questions asked.
All of the above scripts are up to date, "development" branch changes have been merged into the "master" branch.

Feel free to visit and contribute to the AMTM Orphaned Script Revival repo: https://github.com/AMTM-OSR

Thanks for honoring me with the inclusion of my 6th script, WXMON, @thelonelycoder! :) Hope you all have sunny days ahead! (again, no pun intended!) LOL

I'm trying to update, but I run into something strange that I have never experienced before:

After tying "u" as amtm option, Enter/Return does not confirm it, but displays "^M" after the "u"...

On the command line that key works as expected...

EDIT: After logging out and logging in again a few times the key also works again as expected in amtm...

PEBKAC error. Look it up.

I have updated from amtm 6.0.2 to 6.1 about 30 minutes ago (also updated scribe and uiScribe) and all currently used scripts are working as expected. Thanks.

I know what PEBKAC stands for, but I don’t know what I did wrong, so I don’t know what terms to use in the search field.

What did I do wrong? / What should I search for?
It works now and I have no idea what happened. Case settled.

Having a problem getting wxmon to work. Tried yesterday to install by pasting code you posted. Seemed to work but wxmon didn't appear in list of installed amrm options. Updated amtm today and it flashed on the screen that it was installing whatever was needed to run wxmon. Still not in list of amtm options however when I typed the command wx I get the message that need to setup options for wx and run command 'sh wxmon.sh -setup' however when I do this I get a response that setup not found. WXMON now does appear in list of amtm options. How do I remove wxmon so I can start the installation process over?

Please move discussion to WXMON thread.

Thanks for including my suggestion for the scripts update check frequency, I'm impressed with this creative implementation. I'm very glad that I'm contributing to these great Merlin communities!

I just updated amtm, scribe, uiScribe, and vnStat to the latest versions and everything is working just fine!
Additionally, I just removed my custom daily scripts update check cron job, and used the new functionality, which is great!

Thank you!

  • Properly denotes Scribe, uiScribe and vnStat as being served by the AMTM Orphaned Script Revival (AMTM-OSR) repository on the i install screen.
  • Thanks to @swejuggalo for the keen eye - and reporting it.

Maybe I've missed something in config/setup, but it seems to be taking an inordinately long time to look for updates and then download them, and then I get some sort of "we had to use fallback servers" message...can anybody offer insight to potentially fix this??

Haven't had the "fallback servers" message but amtm has been taking an extraordinary long time to look for updates. I'm talking maybe 15 minutes for the 'u' command to run through.

For me, amtm takes about the same time (less than 10 seconds) for the 'u' command to run through.

nowhere near that long

but nowhere near that speedily, either. It used to be like this. I'm wondering what's up - my end or the server?

It’s a 100-110 ms ping for me to diversion.ch and bin.entware.net from Michigan, but only 10 ms to Github (better CDN). It varies based on where you are and what you need to check.
