Hello all, good day
I have an small home network with a couple of asus ac68 routers, one as main and other as repeater, running last Merlin firmware version, all works "almost" fine, I mean, clients can connect on any of each router, and data flows on network without speed problems, but question is that clients connected to repeater router, can see all computers/devices connected to the network but clients connected to main router can see only ones connected main router but can't see anything coonected to repeater router.
Also, when go into Merlin software, from main router can see the repeater router with a small number on it saying that there are x clients connected to it, but no way to see them, so no way to connect for example with a shared printer, or also is a problem transmitting video from a DLNA server (Mezzmo) to a TV connected to the repeater, as DLNA server can't see the other device and can't determine better format of file to be transmitted, so start to transcode video as to be served to a chromecast device, a lot of workload on server that really isn't necessary.
I had same configuration previously, but with an old Linksys router running DDWRT as a wifi connected repeater, and works pretty fine, main asus router saw the Linksys router and each of it's clients connected to repeater, but switched from Linksys to Asus router and lost all trace from clients.
Any clue about how configure Merlin to have again a complete picture of the network?, think that had tried all direct options on the software, and sure there will be any way through scripts or something like that, but I'm not so good with scripts
That leads to a second question, any recomendation to read and start from scratch to learn how to use create scripts and use all possibilities of router?
i.e., need create an static arp table, to be able use WOW, and can do it via Telnet, but anytime router restart need retype again to have fixed ip linked to macs, but no idea how create a script to do it on router's startup
thanks in advance for your answers
