Any point in getting an AC router now?

I think I'm going to buy an N900 router, probably the Asus N66U Dark Knight based on the review here. I considered getting an AC router, but I realized nothing I own uses AC and nothing in the near future will. Is there any practical point in me getting an AC router right now?

The only benefit would be possible better range from improved radio design and drivers.

I would just stick with a high end N router like the N66U or N66W. I have both and they work well together. I have 100% signal no matter where I am on my property. Maybe in a few years i will upgrade to an AC router. Both of these are very cheap on Amazon.
