Any Quick-Start / Guides for FIRST set-up ? (AC68)

Hi all ,

Having been following the Forums and the evolving firmwares, I think it's now time for me to venture into buying a AC-68. I plan on trying John9527's "Fork for Merlin's 374.43". Seem to be perfect for my modest networking needs. ( Stability foremost.)

I have searched and read quite a few threads & posts, but may have missed any type of "Guide" to jumping in and configuring the bare minimum, basic settings when first setting up the router.

Does such a post/thread currently exist ? I am not a total noob regarding routers & wireless, but far below the expertise of many folks here.

If anyone has even bookmarked a few helpful posts with such info, I'd be mighty appreciative with any help you could share with us who are still learning from this wonderful site.

Usually running default settings, but changing 2.4Ghz to 20 instead of 20/40 is sufficient with this router.

This is exactly the type of tip that would be very cool to have all collected within a common post or thread, and then stickied. I will keep looking for these scattered gems of advice.
