that seems to be bricked ? Just got it set up , then tried to to a FW upgrade (lan connected ) , it had very old FW router has been in a closet for 2 years , so as the FW is upgrading the page freezes and nothing happens , waited 10 minutes and still nothing . Router has the power light come on ( amber ) for 30 sec then the wireless radio lights flash on for 2 seconds , power light then shuts off , cycle repeats forever .
Tried the netgear genie ,no go .
Is there any other method of reviving this router ?
After using Asus routers I'm surprised routers get bricked doing FW upgrades . Hard as I try I cannot brick my Asus routers , and I upgrade those over wireless , the netgear was attached with a cat 6 cable when it went bad .

Also already tried to do a factory reset , no change , still have power light on for 30 sec, the the wireless lights flash on for 2 seconds , rinse repeat

You can flash the firmware again via tftp. I have done it before with my WNDR3800 to go back from DD-WRT to stock, same applies even in this case. If this does not work then your truly bricked or may have to do some extra stuff.

You need to be connected via Ethernet to a LAN port on the router and telnet client enabled in Windows.

1. Hold the reset button while turning on router.
2. Wait for power light to blink and or change color while blinking, may take like 5-10 seconds max
3. Open Command Prompt and type tftp -192.168.1.1 put "firmware.img" or whatever the file is called without quotes and hit enter. Firmware will transfer and flash.

Note: You need to fix your LAN IP to 192.169.1.2, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Gateway IP to 192.168.1.1

I got this info long back on the WNDR3800 page of DD-WRT in the how to return to stock firmware section.
