Anyone itching to get the new AX88 just for more power to run scripts?

My personal opinion is, use routers for routing, not fileserving or any other tasks that aren't related to routing

Common scripts in AMTM are not CPU hungry. I wouldn't upgrade the router just because of the scripts.

Better get a proper appliance with no hardware restrictions. 4GB RAM or more and fast CPU.

Honestly, if you don't need fast VPN on the router, I believe RT-AX58U is a better value.

Wow, that looks pretty good. Just wish it had 2x USB ports. We definitely use the OpenVPN server so I guess I'd still lean towards the 88 if I were getting a new one, but honestly we'll probably wait another year anyway since we have a pending move and I'll wait to see how everything settles out from that. And who knows? Maybe Asus will update the code-base for the 3200 and I'll be g2g here for a while. Still thinking about dragging my half-dead 3100 out of the closet and trying to figure out what's going on with it too...
