AP and Repeater

Hi all,

I Have an older N66U with Merlin's RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.35_4-sdk5 set up as an AP and another N66U that I bought recently with John's Fork RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.43_2-18E3j9527 set up as a repeater. Is there any wireless performance issues because of not having the same firmware on both routers? The sdk5 firmware is very stable but it doesn't work when I put it on both routers, the repeater mode on the recent N66U doesn't work well.

Thanks

A repeater has to spend half of its time receiving a packet and the other half sending it to next destination, so you can expect half of the observed throughput.

Other than that, I have had no trouble using either Merlin's or John's firmware with any RT-N66U or RT-AC68U as routers, access points, or repeaters. We have probably 30 or 40 scattered around St. Louis in clients' homes.
