Question for the ones who know here. Does firmware really matter when a router (AC3100) is only being used as a access point ? I seems its not routing the firewall and nat are disabled and many features are locked out in AP mode. I would think no and the main gateway would perform all the security function but i could be wrong any body have an answer ?

of course as with new fw security issues and other problems are fixed and or updated , just because the router is in ap mode doesnt mean its not hackable

...and not bug free firmware - less important on AP mode, but still you wanna good and stable Wireless connections, or not?

So, three simple suggestions: Update, Update and Update!

See my AP devices below: Updated! :D
