Can i use dnsmasq when the router works in AP mode ?
I have rt-ac68u running latest merlin build

Use dnsmasq to do what specifically? An AP does not handle DHCP nor DNS requests, so I don't see what particular feature of dnsmasq you'd want to use in AP mode. An AP is mostly just a bridge between the clients and the main router.
