WireGuard NT for Windows has a massive issue. It doesn't hide keys with asterisks when you run it as administrator. There is some way to run it as Network Configuration Operators that does hide keys, but that's very limiting, especially if you are the administrator. Are there not any forks and/or simple WireGuard clients that do hide at least private keys?
