ASUS Access Point w/ Netgear Router

I have a Aimesh set up right now with 3 Asus Lyra AC2200 (one mode acts as router) but I plan to buy the NETGEAR R7960P from Costco and use that as the router then set my Lyra nodes to AP mode. I’m hoping the roaming will “just work” as it did before but would like to understand if there are limitations to using the NETGEAR router and ASUS Lyra as APs. Anyone have experience with using Asus routers in AP mode for other manufacturers router?
