If the release notes are complete and Asus didn’t forget/truncate anything, once again the AXE16000 gets left out again and doesn’t get any of the other fixes and improvements other models does. This keeps happening, so unfortunate.

Curious, can you be a little more specific of what you think is being left out?

See the difference? :)

Many of these issues should absolutely apply to the AXE16000, as it's also on 3.0.0.6. The last FW update for the AXE16000 was October 2025, almost 5 months ago, so there wasn't an intermediate release that contained these other fixes.

What model(s)/family(ies) are you comparing? Is it in the same family? I'm not arguing, just trying to understand because there could be a lot of reasons. My BE96 got an update as well (39260) on 3/11 that looks like one of your examples but it's a 3 radio WIFI7 not a 4 radio WIFI6E. Hey I own an AXE16000 so I want the recent fixes as well but ... Between the BE96U and the AXE16000, both are 3.0.0.6 based but the UI is different, could many of them be UI fixes?

My AXE11000 which is 3.0.0.4 hasn't yet been updated but has a UI similar to the 3.0.0.6 based AXE16000. All 3 had last update in the last October timeframe IIRC.

Are there issues you know you're seeing that are "fixed" in the other lists? I've only had mine for a short time (weeks) and use it as an AP but I haven't seen anything yet.

He might be referring to the notice on almost all other models to do a factory reset to take advantage of all the security enhancements. For some reason none of the more recent firmware specifically for the GT-AXE16000 mention the advice, implying it is lacking one or more security feature that needs factory resetting.

I believe it's more the case that when those first models had that notice a lot of people followed the advice to do a factory reset.

And then people complained about the new password requirements and having to hand configure everything.

The later models still got the security updates, including the new password requirements and default of having UPnP disbaled. But they took the notice away so people would stop complaining as only those two changes benefited from the reset.

No, you're both off point.

I'm referring to the fact that the latest March 2026 firmware updates for both newer (3.0.0.6 Wi-Fi 7 models) and older (3.0.0.4 Wi-Fi 6 models) both show an extensive list of changes and fixes as per the example I pasted above, but the AXE16000 only shows one change, "Strengthened input sanitization mechanism".

Where is "Optimized Wi-Fi roaming stability for devices supporting 802.11k but not allowing 11v." ? Or "Improved Wi-Fi roaming compatibility and stability for iOS 26 devices."? or "Refined accessibility-related UI and interaction details."? or "Improved overall remote connection stability."? Newer and older models got these improvements but the AXE16000 did not.

Those three that you mentioned seem to be related to 3.0.0.6 AND WiFi 7 router models/hardware. I checked RT-AX5400 and RT-AX86U firmware release notes and they do not mention them. The one that said "suggest factory reset" seems missing, but addressed by @NoLight.

Sorry. I was only speaking to the factory reset notice. Your right that it does seem this model is missing quite a few things that other models have gotten lately.

I can't remember which one I took the 3.0.0.4 Wi-Fi 6 example from but here are a few:
