ASUS Merlin WINS Master or Synology WINS Master

any difference in using asus merlin as wins Master or the Sinology Wins Master?

are they equal or is one better that the other ?

I don't use Synology, but the RMerlin version has been rock solid for over a year of use for me (over many firmwares, of course).

I used to use WINS and it was always enabled on the router. It worked great never had an issue since it was part of Samba. Since all my OS's are now IPv6 there is no need for WINS anymore since they use the IPv6 discovery protocol to build out windows share locations on my network.
