Hi@all,
I have on my old RT-AC68U with the latest Merlin FW from Nov 2024.
The original ASUS latest FW is dated March 2025.
Should I flash to the original FW?
Wich are pros and conts?
thanks in advance for your commentes !
kind rgds

If this is a front facing router I'd be considering an updated router soon.
That said, the march release addresses a vulnerability that exposed our routers to abuse so I'd go with that Asus firmware.

The 10+ year old RT-AC68U is End of Life by Asus. If that router is internet facing you may want to give serious consideration to replacing it with something newer (not end of life). At this point, RMerlin has indicated end of Asus-Merlin support (end of 2024) for the AC (386.x firmware) series of routers so you might as well go with stock Asus firmware (3.0.0.4.386_51733 - 2025/03/10) if you don't need any of the additional features Asus-Merlin brings to the table.

you have had a good run , most routers are not good for a ten year run. best get something new , AX at a minimum B E if you have or plan on going wifi7 . Ether way you will see an improvement in performance
