ASUS RT-AC1200 no guest mode

I just picked up a renewed RT-AC1200 on Amazon to use as an access point router. After setting it up I discovered it wouldn't allow me to set any guest networks either 2.4 or 5 GHz. I updated to the latest firmware ( 3.0.0.4.380_10574) before try to set up the guest network. Any ideas on how to fix this? Revert to previous firmware version? Asuswrt-Merlin apparently doesn't support this modem.

Strange. The user manual has two pages clearly describing how to configure guest networks. Perhaps the option only appears in Router mode?
