ASUS RT-AC5300 updates only manual

Hello
When i have a update from Merlin on my RT-AC5300 it checks but will not update by the router itself.
I must download the file and upload it by the download file, why is the router not doing it self by a positive firmware checking, it see a update and will not downloads itself???
Is this normal?
